Verdict
Who it suits
Hotels, laundries, car washes, boiler rooms and any site that knows its peak gpm and wants a named Fleck valve sized to it, from a small twin to a 3-inch duplex.
Who should skip it
Buyers who need warranty terms published before ordering, or who want one integrated multi-tank controller rather than choosing a valve family.
What earns this range its place is breadth on a single listing: four Fleck valve families, published continuous flow for each, and capacities that run past a million grains. The gap is the warranty, which the listing names but does not spell out.

Every family uses 8% crosslink, high-capacity ion-exchange resin, which the listing calls "High Capacity IAPMO certified 8% resin." Certification wording is model or component level only: the 9500 lists "Approvals: NSF/ANSI-61 Certified"; the 2900S lists "Approvals: NSF Certified & ASME Tanks"; the 3900 lists "NSF Certified" with ASME tanks available on request; and the 9100 package describes its resin as "WQA Gold Seal NSF approved." None of these is a system-level softening certification.
How it works
All four families are salt-based ion exchange: resin swaps calcium and magnesium for sodium, then a brine cycle recharges it and the spent brine flushes to drain. The difference between them is how many tanks there are and how big the valve is.
The 9100 SXT and 9500 SXT are twin-alternating systems. One tank serves the building while the other is regenerated and waits, so soft water never stops. Because each tank can run right to exhaustion before switching, no reserve capacity has to be held back; QWT cites up to 15% salt savings on the 9100 SXT for that reason. The 9100 package ships preloaded with two 8x44 mineral tanks, an 18x33 brine tank with safety float, grid plate, brine well and a bypass valve.
The 2900S NXT2 is a 2-inch brass valve sold as a single tank or as a duplex pair, with flows of 40 to 100 gpm depending on size. The 3900 NXT2 is the heavy-duty option: a 3-inch lead-free brass valve with NXT2 controllers and 3-inch Clack meters, rated for 250 gpm of continuous flow and a 100 gpm backwash. At that end of the range the drain line and backwash water supply need as much planning as the softener.
Sizing and models
Pick the family by peak flow first. A café or small office might sit within the 9100's range; a hotel laundry or multi-bay car wash often moves into 9500 or 2900S territory; a plant or large hotel with sustained heavy draw is 3900 work. Then size grains from gallons per day × hardness. A laundromat running 3,000 gallons a day on 18 gpg water needs 54,000 grains a day, which points to at least the 120,000-grain 9500 twin; confirm with QWT whether that rating is per tank or for the pair, because it sets the days between regenerations.
Two flow figures need checking. The 9100 SXT valve text quotes 20 gpm continuous, but the 9100 package spec reads 9 gpm with its 8x44 tanks; plan on the lower number unless QWT confirms otherwise. And within the 2900S duplex list, the 450,000-grain set ($11,999) is priced below the 300,000-grain set ($14,060), so confirm the exact quote. QWT offers free WISDOM commercial sizing and says its team double-checks each order against the site's requirements. More worked examples are in our commercial sizing guide.
Price and warranty
As of October 2026, the Pentair Fleck commercial listing at QWT (a store we own) starts at $1,448 for a 24,000-grain 9100 SXT twin and reaches $32,770 for a 1,200,000-grain 3900 NXT2 duplex. QWT mentions financing and multi-location shipping. Budget separately for installation; commercial water softener cost has typical ranges.
Warranty terms are not published as text. The listing shows only a "Pentair Fleck Warranty" heading or link. There is lifetime-warranty wording further down the same page, but it sits inside a SoftPro Elite (residential) review that the page reuses, so it says nothing about these Fleck units. Ask QWT for the written warranty for the exact valve family before you buy.

How it compares
Next to the SoftPro Pro Series, Fleck offers more published flow data, larger capacities and brass valves, while SoftPro offers progressive multi-tank control across its single, duplex, triplex and quadraplex layouts. The same 2900 valve family is also on sale at US Water Systems, priced $4,680 to $11,220 for single tanks, and that seller does publish five years of coverage for valve, electronics and tanks (details in the US Water Systems review). Culligan prices through local dealers. For the ranked list, see our commercial softener picks, and application advice is in water softeners for car washes and laundromats.

Common questions
Which Fleck commercial valve fits a business?
Match the valve to peak flow. On QWT's listing the 9100 SXT is rated 20 gpm (9 gpm in its package spec), the 9500 SXT 40 gpm, the 2900S 40–100 gpm and the 3900 250 gpm. Then pick grains from daily gallons × hardness.
What is the difference between the Fleck 9100 SXT and 9500 SXT?
Both are twin-alternating systems. The 9100 SXT has a 3/4-inch polymer valve and runs 24,000–110,000 grains; the 9500 SXT has a 1-1/2-inch brass valve, 40 gpm continuous flow and 120,000–300,000 grains.
What warranty comes with Pentair Fleck commercial softeners from QWT?
The terms are not published as text on the listing, which shows only a warranty heading or link. Request the written warranty for the specific valve family before ordering.
How much does a Pentair Fleck commercial softener cost?
As of October 2026, QWT lists them from $1,448 (9100 SXT twin, 24,000 grains) to $32,770 (3900 NXT2 duplex, 1,200,000 grains), before installation.
Is a Fleck commercial softener NSF certified?
Only at the model or component level, as worded on the listing: the 9500 lists NSF/ANSI-61, the 2900S and 3900 list "NSF Certified," and the resin is described as IAPMO certified. No system-level softening certification is stated.
